The 2022 Ford Edge and its two-row competitors are available and offer more capacity than most small crossovers if you require a medium-sized SUV but don't need three rows of passengers. The Ford is attractive and has two engine options: a turbocharged four-cylinder or a 335-hp twin-turbo V-6, but the latter is only available in the sporty ST version. Many other vehicles, like the Chevy Blazer, the Honda Passport, the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Hyundai Santa Fe, and the Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport, offer comparable packages, some of which are merely more upscale. Although The Edge's inside may be equipped with a host of luxuries and conveniences, including a massive 12.0-inch touchscreen screen, its dated styling and budget-conscious materials rob passengers of the premium-SUV illusion.

What has new for 2022

Beginning with the 2022 model year, a Black Appearance package will be an available option for SE trims at the entry level. It includes numerous black external details in addition to black 19-inch wheels. The Adventure package, which is an add-on for the SEL model, includes faux leather upholstery, 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, and gray and black exterior details. A center console-mounted safe is among the additional dealer-installed items that have been added to the specification list. The color scheme now includes Forged Green and Flight Blue.
